Peckham is a real sweetheart – very calm and easy going. He loves your company, in fact he’ll come over and ask for it! He’s very comfortable right from the get-go, isn’t skittish at all. We hadn’t even been properly introduced and he was already head-butting my hand (which is cat for “I like you.”). The first night he came to stay with me, he lay beside me on my bed, perfectly relaxed, and stayed that way throughout the night. Every time I turned over, he came up to see if I wanted to give him a scratch. Never before have I met a cat so friendly and trusting.
Peckham is a playful, curious young boy. He has a stuffed toy and has a good time playing the hunter with it, rolling on his back, scratching at it with his back feet and letting it get only so far away from him before catching it up again. He also has a fascination with the bottom shelf of my bookcase. He is convinced there is something magical behind the books, but unfortunately can’t quite squeeze through the top gap without knocking a few volumes over. He still tries, though.
Every time I see him, I say hello, and he meows back. He has a voice that belies his large size, sounding very much like the kitten he recently was. He enjoys nothing more than a good scratch. Make sure it’s two-handed; he knows when you’re being lazy! It certainly makes doing work on the computer a challenge.
Please be aware Peckham would do best as a lone pet, as he doesn’t enjoy the company of other cats.
Peckham is a young, easy-going cat who is ready to settle down with a family that will spoil him rotten.
