Meet Pepper, a resilient little grey tabby with soulful eyes and a quiet strength. At such a young age, he has already overcome more than most—rescued without a mother, terrified and alone, then bravely battling lungworm through two hospital stays in an incubator. Now fully recovered, Pepper is slowly learning that people can be kind. He is hand-shy and doesn’t like being picked up, but once he feels safe, he’ll come close for gentle pets and treats (which he adores). Pepper is very shy with new people and hides when people come to the house but he loves his foster mom. He is always looking for cuddles, he does not run and hide. He comes when his foster mom calls him. She can pick him up and he is gentle. He would be a great companion for a single person who lives a quiet life. Pepper finds comfort in the company of other cats and would thrive in a calm home with feline friends and patient humans who understand that trust takes time. Because sudden noises and new faces still scare him, he’s best suited to a quiet household without young children.
