Norbert was initially a very shy kitty. He was fond of his hiding spots and didn’t like to be put out of his comfort zone. He is very curious and smart, and will observe a situation for some time before deciding to put his trust in you. Once he gets comfortable and feels safe with you he blossoms into a loving kitty who enjoys lots of attention either with endless pets or with toys. Food, treats, and toys will help him to come out of his shell, but he prefers to have things on his terms, and will trust you more if you let him find his own spaces and routines. He is a wonderful addition to our household, and will be happiest with people he knows that he can rely on. He enjoys the company of other cats (for lots and lots of playing!) and is tolerant of dogs. May not be well suited to a household with small children, as they may be too erratic in trying to win his affections. (CCAR C19-142)
