Charlie is lovely gentle cat with soft green eyes and a perfectly dapper collection of black spots on his mostly white coat. He’s as handsome as he is sweet.
When Charlie first came into foster care, he was so frightened that he spent weeks hiding from everyone. With patience, gentle encouragement, and lots of kindness, he slowly learned that people could be trusted. Watching him grow into the affectionate cat he is today has been one of the greatest joys of fostering him.
Now Charlie actively seeks out his people for love. He’s a devoted lap cat who melts into every cuddle, sometimes becoming so wonderfully relaxed that he slowly slides right off your lap or chair. He greets his favourite people with gentle head bumps, adores belly rubs, and has the sweetest, most trusting nature once he feels safe. You are able to pick Charlie up for short periods of time, but it’s not his favourite thing.
Charlie is still a sensitive soul. New people, loud voices, and lots of activity can overwhelm him, so he’ll do best in a quiet adult-only home where he can settle in at his own pace. Visitors may never even know there’s a cat in the house! Because he’s unlikely to show his true personality during a meet-and-greet, we’re happy to share videos of Charlie at home so potential adopters can see the loving companion he’ll become once he feels secure.
Charlie enjoys the company of other cats and loves playing and snuggling with his foster siblings. He especially enjoys chasing furry toy mice, wand toys, and the mysterious reflections of sunlight bouncing off a phone or watch.
Charlie also has one delightfully unusual habit—he loves water. He happily splashes around with his front paws and will stand ankle-deep while he plays. After repeatedly tipping over his water bowl, he earned his own large pan of water in the shower where he can splash to his heart’s content. He also likes having several favourite sleeping spots and is particularly fond of his cozy, covered “man cave” for long afternoon naps. When he’s awake, you’ll often find him quietly watching the world from a window.
Charlie isn’t the kind of cat who falls in love with everyone on day one. He’s the kind who quietly steals your heart over time. If you can offer him patience and a peaceful home, he’ll reward you with deep trust, endless affection, and the quiet companionship that makes every bit of that journey worthwhile.
