Tiny, Small and Little are some of the nicknames for Willie–in size, meows and demands. This little one is the perfect friend and pet companion. Smart, playful, easy-going, cuddly and very funny. She’s the cat people say you should get if you want to have better mental health days. A good buddy, laid back, sweet and just plain adorable.
Here’s what the day-to-day with Willie looks like (after the first three months it takes her to get settled somewhere new): Mornings are cuddle time so expect lots of plopping on your neck and face as soon as you wake up. Same with the evenings as you lounge on the couch or watch TV–Willie is a little snuggle bug, she even lets you carry her around, but only to humor you, so time it wisely. Meals and snacks are very exciting and thrilling, to the point that she’ll meow in long, tiny screeches that sound like a “Yaaaaay” when it’s mealtime. During the day, she mostly keeps to herself napping, playing and lazying around in different patches of sun streaming through windows. She loves playing with toys on strings, fetching and startling you as you round corners. She watches screens–TVs, phones, laptops–and her favorite thing to watch are videos of bugs and birds on Youtube and her favorite game is trying to catch the cursor on your screen. Wary of strangers at first, but she comes out of her shell when encouraged with play or snacks and quickly becomes friends with anyone who tries.
What does she ask of you? Nothing but patience at first and time to play and engage with her! Give her the time she needs to come out of her shell. All you have to do is take initiative: Go into her space to play, offer snacks and be around her and it will speed up the process by a lot. She’ll go from wanting to be sheltered to loving you with everything a cat can give in no time.
