Ruby was left behind when her owners moved from BC and we were contacted to help this really terrified and traumatized cat. She has come a long way since she arrived and her foster gave us the update below. We are anxious to place her in a forever home as soon as possible as we do not want her to get too comfortable in her foster home and we want to minimize the change she will have to experience. She has been checked out and had bloodwork and as best we can tell, she is in pretty good health. Of course, we can never guarantee this but we have no reason for concern.
Ruby is a very gentle senior girl who just wants to be loved and petted. She adores being combed and rubbed and scratched, and she might become a lap cat once she’s fully comfortable with a new home and new humans. She is very well behaved with a sweet little meow and a great big purr. In the weeks her foster mom has had her, she has never tried to scratch, growl, hiss, or bite, even if she doesn’t like what’s going on. A quiet home without other cats or dogs or young children would likely suit her best in her golden years.
Ruby really does deserve a kind and loving home for her senior years (as do all domestic animals of course) and who knows, she could live for many more years as 11 years old (our best guess) is more like late middle age than old age!
