About Redd

Redd came to us extremely overweight and could hardly walk. The owner had died, the son did not want to keep him because he was diagnosed as diabetic and wanted to euthanize him. We were contacted by the vet in Duncan I believe asking if we could take this guy on. He is the most sweet, lovely, easygoing cat you could meet. I love this guy. He has lost a lot of weight and is in remission (and I don’t think he was ever really diabetic, he just had some high readings because of his weight and diet.) He eats normal food and has no insulin requirements. Other cats love him. He has developed an ear issue which we are treating but it is a difficult treatment and he does not take oral meds that well, he tends to gag as he seems to have a sensitive gag reflex. We may end up doing a surgical procedure to remove a portion of the bone in his affected ear. If this cat were to be fostered or adopted, he would need to go to a home with other cats for sure as we did try him on his own in a great foster home and he did not do well at all.
