Dolce is a sweet tempered guy with a big rumbling purr. His first veterinarian believed he was a cross with a Norwegian Mountain Cat. His mother died when he and his brothers were three weeks old. He was bottle fed and hand raised, making him very affectionate and personable. Dolce was allowed to become an outdoor kitty, and loved hanging out on the deck with his buddy from down the street.
His owner became a new mom, and moved to a smaller home to be able to go back to school. Dolce had to spend more time outdoors or in the garage because his meow kept waking up the baby. Between the baby and school, his owner has little time for him, and he cannot get the affection or attention he needs. He also had to defend himself from the neighbourhood non-neutered bully which has made him skittish around other cats. Dolce disappeared one afternoon from his front yard, and was missing for 12 days. He found his way back, starving and exhausted. He is now living with Nana and Grandpa so he can recover and build up his strength again, but it is a short term solution, as he is in a home with five other pets and he may be a danger to two bunnies, who are litter trained and have the run of the house. In short, Dolce is looking for his own space.
This beautiful boy deserves a home where he can be the centre of attention. He loves being outside, and in time he could be reintroduced to the safe (proper fenced yard) outdoors. He is a cuddly companion on the couch when you are watching tv, and likes to follow you around the house and have a conversation. Interested parties should email ccar@shaw.ca.
