From Cybil’s Foster Mom:
I smile even now when I think about her. We did everything with and around Cybil. Where we went, she went. I got up at 5:30 every morning to get her from her pen, we started by changing out her bedding, she was funny that way — liked clean soft blankets, always sniffing them and telling me they were poopy, and I never made her wear her diaper to bed.
I always left two different types of food plus some crunchies out, she was a little nocturnal and like to eat lots at night. We then went to the yard or tub to express her bladder, she struggled more at the end with that. Then it was time for some laps around the house, meet and greet with the other animals. Twice a day we took a warm face cloth and cleaned her face and bum. Then it was time for some breakfast. Once breakfast was finished it was into her diaper for a couple hours of play or lying in the sun. When I returned from being out she always came with her ‘big girl walk’ to greet me at the door, telling me she was hungry.
We spent an hour or two a day just cuddling and chatting, she was so affectionate. After dinner every other day she loved to just float in a hot bath. I would wrap her up in soft towels to dry. In the summer I set up a safe pen outside where she could suntan, she loved the warmth. Her pen had a heating pad, that when she wanted to nap and feel safe she would go in, she loved her special area.
I knew that near the end I was doing this ritual more for me than her. I knew that she was going to start to suffer and I never wanted that for my little princess. I have so many wonderful memories, the tears are starting to dry up and I really hope there’s a little ghost Cybil following me around the house.
She truly was a gift!
