If you love sleepy Tuxedo cats with chirps for meows, then Chica is your girl. Like other shy cats, Chica takes her time to warm up to new people and new environments. But it makes her eventual affection all the more rewarding and wholesome.
At first, Chica will want to spend lots of time by herself in a dark, quiet place, away from everyone else, usually under a bed or couch. Eventually though–and with lots of love, tube snacks and attention–she blossoms into a curious, chatty supervisor demanding pets by headbutting the furniture or standing between your legs and looking up at you. She’s not much of a lap cat and doesn’t appreciate being picked up, but she’ll come for cuddles on your chest every night and early morning. You can also sometimes find her lazily looking out a window, high atop a cat tree.
Between dawn and dusk, Chica’s most likely to be buried under a pile of blankets, sleeping. In the evenings, she comes out to eat dinner, ask for pets and to play ruthless predator with a toy mouse wand. She’s also not a picky or demanding eater, and you’ll want to keep glasses full of liquids away from her reach. It’s probably best for Chica if she’s the only cat in the household.
Chica’s CCAR ID# is S24-129.
