Belinda is a super sweet girl, who loves to cuddle up on the couch with you and purr away. She’s great with other cats, and enjoys “cat TV” videos of birds and squirrels! She’s a very smart girl too! If you have lever style door handles, she knows how to open them to escape and let herself out, so beware!
She is however extremely timid at first, and it takes her a long time to become adjusted to new situations. Because of this, she needs a stable and quiet home environment that has consistent routines day to day. She also needs a home that doesn’t often have new people coming and going, and no risk of moving homes frequently.
She also has some non-negotiable must-haves:
Female only home: Belinda is scared of men, which will require her to have a single female, or a female couple for a forever home. She’s also wary of fast movements, so a child free home is also a must.
Condo living: Belinda needs a smaller place, as a large home is too overwhelming, and leaves too many places to get lost and hide, or escape, and not give her the best chance of trusting her new people. A bachelor or one bedroom would be perfect. As long as there is a lot of cat furniture and trees for her to enjoy.
Time (and experience with timid cats): It will probably take Belinda a month or more, in her own space of a (frequently used by the humans of her household) small bathroom, or bedroom to really start to trust a new space, and new people. Belinda loves attention, but is extremely wary of new environments and new or differing routines, including changes in her food.
If you’re interested in spending the time, and have a lot of patience for Belinda to become comfortable in a new space, her snuggles and love are well worth the wait!
