When she arrived at our foster home, it was pretty obvious that this little warrior princess had never been in a people house before. She adapted quickly to soft beds and litter boxes, but the indignity of being fed cat food was really too much. Her first reaction was that she would literally rather starve to death than eat what we were serving, but after a bit of experimenting with different foods, she seems to have finally become resigned to the fact that she is indeed a kitten and needs to be eating kitten food. But just for fun, she still really likes to rifle the garbage or swipe a bit of people food if she thinks she can get away with it.
Initially stand-offish to humans, she has become quite the cuddle-bug. When she has decided you are an agreeable human, she will be quite affectionate and climb right up into your neck to cuddle. She especially likes to be in a position where she can watch your phone or tablet screen. Chasing the mouse arrow on the computer monitor is also a favorite pastime.
She was the leader of her little band of foster siblings, and was quite nurturing of them, teaching the timid ones how to wrestle, and facing down the big scary adult cats for them. She does not like being an only cat, and cries if she doesn’t know where the other cats are, but she also likes to be boss, so she would be best matched up with a male cat, or a non-dominant female.
She has a particular dislike of dogs and becomes a hissing, growling cat-nado in their presence, so a dog-free home is required. (CCAR ID: C17-275).
