Rita Red is a very unique and special cat. She is both feisty and affectionate. Rita is a cute “redhead” with a distinct personality and will be a fine and loyal pet. Her foster parents are helping her feel safe, comfortable, and trusting. Rita loves to rub by people and be petted and also likes some lap time. She makes it known where she likes to be petted – yes to this or that spot and no to reaching under her, etc. Rita is not fond of other cats and needs to be an “only cat”. She has slowly built trust in her foster home and now is confident and content. She is particularly fond of playing with a kitty fishing pole with a ball on the end and when it is waved above her she runs back and forth and then jumps in the air and does a sort of “flip”! This is a fun way for her to get exercise. Rita’s foster dad says that she responds when he whistles. For those “dog people” out there who can’t have a dog in their present situation, Rita is a nice cat to consider. She is very smart, a quick learner, and likes to be active – then take a long nap. If you are gone all day and home in the evening, Rita will happily wait for you to come home at dinnertime – her favorite time of the day! Update: The beautiful and lively Rita Red was recently adopted by a couple who absolutely adore her. |
