Kelley's Story: |
|
Kelley was found wandering around the BC Ferry Terminal with her eyes gummed shut and suffering from severe upper respiratory problems. A visit to the vet confirmed that she has a chronic viral infection in her eyes that will always be present. She requires no treatment for this other than having her eyes bathed occasionally, and artificial tears in her eyes periodically. Her vision is somewhat impaired, but she is a great sniffer and you can actually hear her sniffing at things. The vet assures us that she only experiences minor discomfort and has a good quality of life. If you see Kelley playing, you will know this is true. She will play with anything! Don't wriggle your toes near her, she thinks she has to catch them! She makes toys out of everything around her. She will sit on your knee once she has finished her playing and, as she gets older, will doubtless become more of a lap cat. Ideally Kelley should be the only cat in a home as there is a slight chance other cats can contract her eye problem. However, apparently many cats have her particular eye problem but it just lays dormant. She requires no medication other than mentioned above and is a healthy happy cat who would be a wonderful companion. If you do decide to adopt this little girl and, in the unlikely event that she requires medical attention relating to her eyes, the current foster mom will pay those expenses. Please consider adopting, or fostering this amazing, cheerful young girl. |
