Jeffrey has been Adopted !

"What, me trouble?"

Jeffrey is one of six feral kittens who were quite wild when they were found about a month ago in Metchosin.  Frankly, we were uncertain what to do with this lovely litter as they were borderline too old for domestication.  However, with long hours of work Jeffrey and his littermates have come a long way.

Little Jeffrey is a gentle, beautiful cat with a very sweet face and gorgeous coat.  He is very shy and gives a brief warning hiss before allowing a familiar human to pet him, but then purrs quite loudly.  He is most comfortable in his cage and can be held in or near the cage, but when he gets out into a room he is quite fearful and runs for a hiding spot. 

Although he is a quiet guy, when in the same crate with his brother Louie or his brother Randy Red he comes to life and plays vigorously with them. 

For Jeffrey and his littermates, there is a lot of work still ahead, but all can be handled, love petting, purr a lot, play with other kittens, and enjoy the company of cats.  At this time they are all most comfortable in their large crates but are gradually being introduced to the big world of a human house!  We have no doubt these kittens will make great domestic cats in the not too distance future, but a lot of patience is required.

Jeffrey's littermates are Randy Red, Louie, Connor, Carmela, and Florence.  Watch for their photos coming soon. 

Update from foster home: 

Jeffrey is enjoying his foster home (along with his sister Carmela).  He scampers around the home and does hide a bit but is now feeling safe and more confident.  When brought to a small room, he allows petting and picking up.  He needs a little more time but is well on the road to being ready for a patient permanent home.

Update: Jeffrey has been adopted!
