Henrietta's Story:

Hello.  I’m Henrietta and I’ve been at Cat’s Cradle longer than almost any of the other cats.  Therefore, I have “seniority” and get a very nice room of my own.  In fact, I get “the book room” full of big bookshelves and comfy chairs.  I also have a nice big sunny window.  Sometimes I go on top of the bookcases and at other times I snuggle into a shelf on some cushy pink pillows.

Most of the time I have a very pleasant roommate – always a very laid-back mellow cat who doesn’t cause me any problems.  I’ve had a problem with aggressive cats in the past – they stress me out.  Also, I have a food allergy and need hypoallergenic food.  On this diet I have recovered from a skin issue caused by eating the same food as the other guys here.

As you can see from my photos, I am exceptionally beautiful and exotic!  Who needs ear flaps anyway, they are only in the way.  Being a white cat, I had a bad spell in the past when I developed cancer of the ear margins and had to undergo surgery and a painful recovery period.  Beverly at Cat’s Cradle took me in and even though I hated the treatment I’m now grateful to her for saving my life.

I’m very healthy now – in fact robust.  I have thick and luxurious white fur and I love petting.  I don’t mind being brushed, once I get to know the person holding the brush.  The same goes for nail trimming.  Once we get to know each other, you will find me to be quite affectionate.  I need a little time to warm up but then you will find me a warm companion with a charming personality.

I had an exceptionally nice foster home for awhile and was renamed “Lola”, but the woman was allergic to me and I came back to Cat’s Cradle.  Let me hasten to add that she hated to give me up and no one else has been allergic to me.  It was a rare occurrence and unfortunate for both of us since we had a great relationship.  Now I need a new foster home or, even better, a permanent home.  If you have a very congenial and mellow cat I’d love to join you – or I would really love to be your only cat.

Oh yes, one last thing -- I'm a wee bit hard of hearing but certainly not deaf.  As long as you don't whisper, I'll be fine!
