I’d tell you my long and sad story, but you wouldn’t even believe it. Suffice it to say, I had a nice home for quite awhile and then for some reason I was taken for a ride (in more ways than one!), only to find myself dropped off in Metchosin! Well, I’m not much of a hunter and I’m not too proud to beg, so I walked up to many doors until I found a nice couple who provided food and shelter. I enjoyed my life with them, but they moved and I would have been left to fend for myself again – which they didn’t want to see happen. SO here I am at the Cat’s Cradle “resort”. In my temporary Metchosin home they called me Fluffy. Beverly at Cat’s Cradle said I needed a new and better name and that plain old “Fluffy” wasn’t good enough. However, everyone calls me Fluffy so I’m going to wait and have my permanent family help me find a new name that fits me. It’s true – I am fluffy. In fact, I am the fluffiest of all fluffy felines. I have very thick hair and people love to cuddle me and I love to be cuddled. I’m very trusting and affectionate. I’m an all-around nice guy and you’ll find me irresistible. I’m a big guy, but very laid back and congenial. I get along with other cats and I have lived with a big dog. I’ve been outdoors a lot but I must admit I love this cushy indoor life of luxury with heat, comfy chairs, good food, fresh water, and lots of treats. I wouldn’t mind being able to go outside now and then (after I establish my indoors territory for an appropriate month or so), but my main residence should be inside, especially at night. The Cat’s Cradle ladies say I cannot live on a busy street if I’m going outside at all! I need lots of brushing and at the moment I have some dreadfully matted fur. I go to the vet May 27 for dental work and at that time the vet will deal with a few of the mats on my tummy. I hope they don’t ruin my hairstyle, but it will grow back. With lots of brushing, I’ll stay silky from now on. My most striking feature is the deep red highlights throughout my hair. I have striking coloring and you won’t see many cats like me. I am unique and quite a star here at Cat’s Cradle. They would like to keep me, but “unconditional love” is the philosophy around here so they will be happy to see me go to a really wonderful new home. Me too! Update: "Fluffy" had extensive dental work done on Tuesday. Thanks to donations and also support at our fundraisers, "Fluffy" will no longer have to face a life of pain. He is doing well following surgery and already has a potential adoption. Update: Fluffy has been adopted and is now in a home where he will get all the affection he needs and deserves. |
