Daisy's Story: |
|
I am a very lovely mature lady and I simply refuse to tell my age, although I admit it’s in double digits. No matter how much you ask, you are not going to see a driver’s license with my name and face! Some things are simply confidential… I had a wonderful home where I was pampered and treated well all of my life. I’m still reeling from the shock of being “evicted” due to a stupid strata bylaw forbidding pets. The humans who lived with me were retired seniors and owned the condo, but it didn’t matter. Once I was discovered (during a supposed fire inspection) the couple was given only a few days’ notice to get rid of me. They packed me up and tried to relocate me at the SPCA, Pound, etc. – you know the drill. Every place we went was full of those pesky little squirmy kittens. Over and over it was “no space in the inn.” My poor “owners” (quote-unquote) found themselves considering drastic measures which I can’t even bear to share with you. Anyway, luckily a nice veterinarian was worried about my future (or whether I even had one!) and suggested they call Cat’s Cradle. Well, they were full too and have a policy not to take “owner surrenders”. It was touch-and-go for awhile because they can’t keep making exceptions when they are at capacity. At this point I played the frail homeless senior and they took pity on me. It took me a week or two to adjust and I hissed at them a lot in those early days. Now I’m familiar with them and enjoy being petted and like to sleep on the bed. I greet my foster mom at the bedroom door and look forward to our nights together. I like sleeping at the corner of the foot of the bed. During the day when I’m alone I like to sleep at the top of the bed and lean on the pillow. I would be perfect for someone who is away at work all day as I do nap a fair amount and I’m not needy. You can pick me up a little bit once I know you, but mostly I just like a small amount of petting now and then and to hang out in the room with you. I will be friendly to your human guests but I don’t want to deal with a feline roommate this late in the game, so I simply must have the humans all to myself.
When you pet my back just in front of my tail I move my back legs up and
down in a little dance because that feels really good. I have a beautiful
face and I’m self-confident and gentle. I have a good foster home so I
don’t need one of those. However, my goal is to find a permanent home
where I can live out my many remaining senior years. I insist on Fancy
Feast and some crunchies but otherwise I’m low maintenance. I am very,
very good about my litter box. Not much more to say – I’m gorgeous with a
sweet disposition, so what more could anyone want? |
