In Memory of Brodie

Posted on July 16, 2016

Brodie came into our care about four years ago. He was from up island and had been foBrodieund wandering as a stray. One of the sweetest cats I ever came across. He was with me for a few months as he battled his initial health issues like the true gentleman he was. He went to Barbara who takes on some of our oldest and sickest cats and that is where he lived out his days being pampered and loved. Barbara’s memorial follows and it brought tears to my eyes.

Brodie was just another of many kitties that was deemed disposable and worthless once they get old and sick.

Within seconds of being placed in my care it became apparent how precious this little soul was.

The most enduring thing about Brodie was when he was held, he needed and ,I mean NEEDED, to wrap his two beautiful furry paws around your neck and give you a hug. This trait resulted in many 10 minute vet visits turning into an hour long one as everyone needed there Brodie ” hug”

This poor boy battled many health problems in his time with me but nothing could dampen his loving nature.

Much time and energy went into the daily care of Brodie but he was well worth the effort.

The day came when Brodie was not able to battle any longer and it was time to gently let him go.

Letting go was the right thing to do but also one of the hardest decisions to make.

My dearest Brodie you will continue to dwell in the gentle beat of my heart.

You made a difference in my life and I thank you for allowing me to have the honour of being your “mom”.

May the pain you experienced be a distant memory as your spirit roams freely.

Kisses my dear one………

Many many thanks for CCAR who ensured all his vet needs were taken care of and who honours the lives of old and sick cats.
